JAIYE number one “keytarist”

Who Is Jaiye?   

Jaiye is Nigeria’s No. 1 “keytarist”. He was born on the 18^th of July in the early ‘80s. He performs with a keytar which is a keyboard designed to be carried like a guitar, thereby allowing for mobility, and greater expression.

What has he done? 

Jaiye’s professional career began in 2006. As a professional keyboardist, he’s played keyboards with various bands in notable clubs, and bars, such as Soul Lounge, Jazz Sessions, Saipan, Da Grotto, Lagos Motor Boat Club, to name a few. He’s also played with artistes like Tosin Martins, Ego (Lagbaja), Mr. Solek, Jodi (West African Idols), among others in various events in his home country,

Jaiye went solo in August 2008. As a solo keytarist, Jaiye has thrilled audiences at shows such as

·       TG1sT (Thank God 1^st Thursday), Silverbird Galleria, which he headlined. TG1sT has also been headlined by MI, Omawumi, and Ikechukwu, Kaffy, Bigiano…. (December’08)

About Jaiye Live?

This event series, “JAIYE LIVE!” was initiated in October, 2008 by Jaiye Entertainment. It started out as a pool-side event that took place every Thursday at Elion House Hotel, Dolphin estate extension. The event was a two-hour performance by Jaiye for his fans that attracted top-notch guests.     

Jaiye Entertainment later collaborated with Silverbird Galleria, in December, 2008, to start TG1st T (Thank God 1^st Thursday) which is a monthly weekend-starter event with live performances by the best of artistes. Jaiye was the first headliner. Others include MI, Omawumi, Ikechukwu, Kaffy, Bigiano, and DJ Zeez

In March 2009, JAIYE LIVE! partnered with Palmbeach Resorts to present “JAIYE LIVE! @ PALMBEACH”. This outdoor show at the beachfront was a big success, and got the attention of the media. It was aired both here, in Nigeria, and in Europe.

In September 2009, JAIYE LIVE! Partnered with Nu Grotto to preset “JAIYE LIVE! @ NU GROTTO”. Once again, It was a success.

As a solo artiste, Jaiye focuses on delivering quality music, electric stage performances, and expressing various kinds of music in the most creative way ever, in all kinds of events, taking into consideration his client’s preferences.

What makes Jaiye unique?    

Jaiye’s uniqueness is in the instrument he plays, his vast repertoire, and his energy and creativity on stage.

Jaiye plays a keytar which is a very bright, attractive, and uncommon instrument around the world.

Jaiye is unlimited in terms of the songs he performs. He performs his own songs as well as all other genres and types of music from old school hits (local and foreign) to brand new hits (both local and foreign too), covering genres like Hi-life, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Afro, R n B, etc. 

Who and/or what are Jaiye’s influences?           

Jaiye is inspired by all of nature, daily life, and almost every genre of music. His major influences are Carlos Santana, Femi Kuti, Fela, Snoop Dogg, Lagbaja, King Sunny Ade, Don Jazzy, 9ice, Asa, Wyclef, Snoop Dogg, Bob James, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Yossou N’Dour, amongst a whole lot of other artistes.

Where is he headed?       

Jaiye aspires to be the most creative, entertaining, and inspiring Nigerian musician/music entrepreneur.
