They actually succeeded in taking my phones, money, jewelry and other valuables, but just as they were about collecting my car key, one woman who had noticed what was happening screamed and alerted people at the accident scene. NOMINEES FOR 6TH ANNUAL NIGERIA ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS (NEA)

  The Producers of the NEA Awards are pleased to announce the Nominees for the Sixth Annual NEA Awards scheduled for Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at 5:00pm at the Sharp Theater at Symphony Space in New York.
This year’s nominees highlight new and young talents that are destined to shape the future of African Entertainment.
In the music categories, Wizkid, Darey, Dbanj and Duncan Mighty lead this year’s pack with three nominations each. Wizkid nabs Hottest Single of the Year, Best New Act of the Year and Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year. Darey is nominated for Best Album of the Year, Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories. Dbanj is nominated for Hottest Single of the Year, Pop/R&B Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Duncan Mighty’s nomination includes Best Album of the Year, Hottest Single of the Year and Indigenous Artist of the Year categories. Other artists receiving multiple nominations this year includes Asa, Naeto C, Banky W, MI, Don Jazzy, Ice Prince and Olamide.
The Hottest Single of the year is shaping up to be one of the key categories to watch this year with the songs that dominated the airwaves in the last twelve months. And Best New Act of the year showcases the best and newest talent to enter the game.
The Pan African Artist of the Year features the biggest names in African music scene, Fally Ipupa (DRC), R2Bees (Ghana), Awilo (Congo), Winky D (Zimbabwe), Juliana Kanyomozi (Ugandan) and VIP (Ghana) are all nominated in what is considered the best artist in Africa category.
In the TV and Film categories, MNET’s Tinsel and Jeta Amata’s “Inale” both received four nomination nodes. Tinsel’s Victor Olaotan and Gideon Okeke both received nominations for Best Actor in a TV Series/Reality/Game Show. And Damilola Adegbite and Matilda Obaseki received nominations for Best Actress in a TV Series/Reality/Game Show. Jeta Amata receives nominations for Best Picture and Best Directing in a Film/Short Story for Inale. And the two stars of the movie also nabbed nominations, Caroline Chikezie for Best Actress in a Film/Short Story and Hakeem Kae Kassim for Best Actor in a Film/Short Story.

The Pan African Actor and Actress of the Year categories are quite exciting and feature the who’s who in African Film industry. Ama K. Ambrose, Akofa Asiedu, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Okoro, Jackie Appiah and Yvonne Cherry are all nominated for Best Actress category and Chris Attoh, Senanu Gideon Gbedawo, John Dumelo, Edward Kagutuzi, Majid Michel and Van Vicker are all nominated for Best Actor category.

TAY MOS ------- Afro Pop artist based in London/Nigeria

Tay Mos is one stimulating artist that blends contemporary soul with Afro-Pop.
His roots can be traced back to Apapa, Lagos Nigeria, where he recollects fondly the days when his parents used to drive him and his sibling out for weekly choir practise. There, he learnt quite a lot and his interest in melody and catchy hooks developed naturally. He also started listening to artist like Telvin Campel, Boyz II Men, Sting, King Sunny Ade and Stevie Wonder who have been strong influences on his work ever since.
On returning to London as a young adult, he enrolled for a number of courses at the London Contemporary College of Music and Vocal Tech. He learnt from the best with renowned tutors Yak Bondy (Annie Lennox, Mark Morrison, Erykah Badu...), William Lester, Iain Mackenzie (Ronnie Scott's vocal lead) and Kim Chandler.
He developed back then a unique combination of high pitched sound, vitality and edginess, a mix very soon flourishing to become the core of his style.

NAME.   Gbenga Meshida STAGE NAME.  Mesh DATE OF BIRTH. 3^rd of May. EDUCATION.  University of  Lagos (Sociology),London School of Accountancy and Management (Management)RECORD LABEL.  Stealth Entertainment.BIOGRAPHY. Gbenga Meshida a.k.a Mesh was born in Ile Ife South West region of Nigeria to the family of Dr Mrs Meshida in the early 80s. He is the 5^th of 6 children. He was introduced to music by his father who at that time was the principal and founder of  Terra Choral Group, Ile Ife who believed music was a major part in everyone’s life therefore was the reason he spread the music spirit to the whole family who by hook or crook  must learn a musical instrument.

He later moved to Lagos in the early 90s due to the retirement of his father from the University. At his young age, Gbenga  had the ambition to become a medical doctor, but that ambition was fazed out in his early high school days in Command  day secondary  school Ikeja, when he developed a better passion for the social sciences , instead of medical sciences., which he ended up studying Sociology i  the University. During his university days, he came in contact with producers like Eldee d Don of trybze records, who was at this time producing tracks from his boys quarters  room. This zeal what was sparked his curiosity to go ahead to make his own kind of music. That was when he met with Jonah da Monarch who listened and produced his songs.

In 2005, Mesh recorded “Say it”,  “I need You”, and “how do you like it”, but did not have any backing for promotion, but this did not discourage him, but rather he kept on working to get his album done. In 2006, he released another single, “Being me”, which Basically was an inspirational song to boasts ones ego on achieving ones goal no matter how hard things might seem. The track also suffered low promotion.

In 2008, Mesh went to further his education in England. The exposure to another terrain was what developed his ego to keep on with the music. During his 18 months in England, he auditioned for the season 5 of the X factor reality show, which he had a fair outing . He also featured in a couple of collaborations with London based African acts like Lambo da Virus, Jaylo2 , Papa slim (Ghana), amongst others.

Mesh later came back to Nigeria in 2009, after his studies, and started recording more tracks for his debut album. He met with Ayo Ajayi a.k.a. Magnum (C.E.O Stealth Entertainment), who took interest in His music and signeds him on. The video , “ I  dey feel you”, is his debut video under stealth entertainment, and its smooth and natural sleek mellow is what sets you in the mood for the start of a beautiful experience.....
