Psquare Attacked And Robbed At Gun Point In Lagos (3rd Mainland)

The incident occurred at about 6 p.m. yesterday on Third Mainland Bridge when the dread-carrying singer was on his way to Victoria Island to meet with some friends.
we gathered that Paul,  who was driving his new BMW X6 with customised registration number Rude Boy, had stopped to assist some victims that were involved in an accident in front of him, and as soon as he was getting back into his car to leave the scene, two gunmen approached him and demanded for all his valuables. “I was about leaving when these two guys surfaced from nowhere and demanded for everything I had on me at gun point. They actually succeeded in taking my phones, money, jewelry and other valuables, but just as they were about collecting my car key, one woman who had noticed what was happening screamed and alerted people at the accident scene. And that was when the gunmen ran away . still shaa download new singles from them Bunieya enu http://www.4shared.com/audio/6xQ6bWL3/Bunieya_enu.html  and Forever http://www.4shared.com/audio/G9a52A1K/Forever.html

Raggaremi collaboration with JHYBO aka be naa ni

RAGGAREMI

raggaremi and the fast rising indigenous yoruba rapper (Jhybo..aka Be naa ni), got together out of mutual respect for each others style of music and mode of song writing(originality). the track is a reflection of the Nigerian society in particular and Africa in general where the system and those who run it are the Joy killaz being refered to. Basically, its about condemning any thing that tends to kill people's joy eg, power shortage, lack of jobs, employment, security, police brutality etc. a unique blend of afro reggae and yoruba rap . feel free to download http://www.4shared.com/audio/RoCxcwdz/Joy_Killaz_-_Collabo_RaggaRemi.html

Workacholic Beyonce

The singer stunned record  label staff by delivering 72 tracks to them and asked them to choose  and decide which songs should be in her next album, titled 4. The new album has no official release date yet, but is expected to hit shops in the next couple of months.
And Beyonce has hinted that some of the tracks have an Afrobeat flavour. She revealed: "I started off being inspired by FELA KUTI." Way to go!

TIWA SAVAGE ------LOVE ME LOVE LOVE ME

TIWA SAVAGE
AT the age of 16 Tiwa Savage was destined to sing backup for George Michael. While puffing on her trombone near the back of the orchestra, Savage gazed through the rows of musicians and decided to position herself in the spotlight - singing in the front row.
An instant classic, folks about town in London started to take notice and she was soon sharing a stage with the "Faith" singer. Cementing her fate as an infectious musical force Savage went on to sing backup for Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Chaka Khan, Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andreas Bocelli, Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Robbie Williams.
Currently, signed to Sony ATV as one of their premier songwriters, Savage will embark on a solo career and will release her debut in early 2011. Weaving an eclectic collision of influences on her record, the Nigerian native says her album will blend, "songs in my native language Yoruba and some straight up R&B soulful pop records."
Likening herself to an afro-pop Brandy, the singer, who also runs her own label 323 Music Entertainment with partner TJ (aka Tbillz), has collaborated with Chuck Harmony (Rihanna, Mary J. Blige), Warren "Oak" Felder (Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez), and producer So Sick on her debut.Kele Kele Love was such a huge song that everybody knew she was born to do this. Tiwa Savage‘s new joint titled Love me Love Me Love Me produced by H-Money same producer on Kele Kele Love and co-written by Tiwa Savage herself and Rich “TK” King
Sometime last month the Kele ,kele Love Video was premièred on VEVO

MESH

NAME.   Gbenga Meshida STAGE NAME.  Mesh DATE OF BIRTH. 3rd of May. EDUCATION.  University of  Lagos (Sociology),London School of Accountancy and Management (Management)RECORD LABEL.  Stealth Entertainment.BIOGRAPHY. Gbenga Meshida a.k.a Mesh was born in Ile Ife South West region of Nigeria to the family of Dr Mrs Meshida in the early 80s. He is the 5th of 6 children. He was introduced to music by his father who at that time was the principal and founder of  Terra Choral Group, Ile Ife who believed music was a major part in everyone’s life therefore was the reason he spread the music spirit to the whole family who by hook or crook  must learn a musical instrument.
He later moved to Lagos in the early 90s due to the retirement of his father from the University. At his young age, Gbenga  had the ambition to become a medical doctor, but that ambition was fazed out in his early high school days in Command  day secondary  school Ikeja, when he developed a better passion for the social sciences , instead of medical sciences., which he ended up studying Sociology i  the University. During his university days, he came in contact with producers like Eldee d Don of trybze records, who was at this time producing tracks from his boys quarters  room. This zeal what was sparked his curiosity to go ahead to make his own kind of music. That was when he met with Jonah da Monarch who listened and produced his songs.
In 2005, Mesh recorded “Say it”,  “I need You”, and “how do you like it”, but did not have any backing for promotion, but this did not discourage him, but rather he kept on working to get his album done. In 2006, he released another single, “Being me”, which Basically was an inspirational song to boasts ones ego on achieving ones goal no matter how hard things might seem. The track also suffered low promotion.
In 2008, Mesh went to further his education in England. The exposure to another terrain was what developed his ego to keep on with the music. During his 18 months in England, he auditioned for the season 5 of the X factor reality show, which he had a fair outing . He also featured in a couple of collaborations with London based African acts like Lambo da Virus, Jaylo2 , Papa slim (Ghana), amongst others.
Mesh later came back to Nigeria in 2009, after his studies, and started recording more tracks for his debut album. He met with Ayo Ajayi a.k.a. Magnum (C.E.O Stealth Entertainment), who took interest in His music and signeds him on. The video , “ I  dey feel you”, is his debut video under stealth entertainment, and its smooth and natural sleek mellow is what sets you in the mood for the start of a beautiful experience.....

Miss Eva Alordiah

Brand new single from arguably one of the best female emcees in Nigeria, Eva and this one is called “I Done Did It”. Press Release: Eva releases Brand New single off ‘the GIGO EP’. The track produced by Award winning Producer Sossick, is titled ‘I Done Did it’ . With a previous release off ‘the...

The beauty of music is that it is highly universal and at the same time, very diverse. Universal in the sense that everyone can relate to it and diverse in the sense that there are so many different genres and while Mr B is hot for a particular genre, Mrs B hates it completely. That being said, whether you are a rock head, a jazz fellow, a lover of the more traditional afro beat or a garage fan, you’ve got to give Miss Eva Alordiah her due. She is good at what she does.

Eva is a young Nigerian female emcee who hails from Delta State but grew up in Lagos. She started rapping at the age of 13 and decided to go professional at the age of 16.She recorded her first song at 20. When asked why she picked rap music above all the other genres, she said:
“Music is a way of expression for me. If I could do it any better by singing then I would but rapping comes naturally and it’s easier for me to relate to people through rap music”
She writes all her lyrics, is very eloquent and delivers her bars beautifully. I am sure she is one to watch out for and the thought of all the competition our music industry is gonna be experiencing gets me really excited.
As far as good female emcees in Nigeria are concerned, they are not many. A complete list would probably make the World’s Thinnest Book. Weird MC, Blaise, Kel, Zara, Sasha, Kemistry to name a few (if not all). I’m quite sure Eva is gonna be adding a leaf to this book.
